What to expect from your solar & battery install from start to finish.
A high quality energy system installation starts long before installation day. A large portion of the work is making sure the system is right for you, your bills and your budget. Our process ensures that you know exactly what’s happening at each step.
Here is a quick summary of our process and what to expect from Solarbank:
- First Phone Call.
- Site Meeting.
- Design and Quote.
- Consideration, comparison and selection.
- Book your install.
- Installation day.
- Post-installation.
That’s the whole process: a phone call, a site visit, clear options, your decision, a careful install, and support that carries on afterwards. If you’re considering solar or a battery, send us a note. We’ll look at your bills and tell you honestly whether it stacks up.
Here is a more detailed look at each step:
Step 1: First Phone Call
A quick chat to understand what you’re looking for.
- We will ask about your site, your power bills and what you want from an energy system.
- We answer your early questions, no jargon, no pressure.
- If you like what you hear, we book a site visit.
Step 2: Site Meeting
We come to you and look at the things that matter.
- We check your roof, switchboard, meter and where hardware components and cable paths could go.
- We take measurements and photos in order to create a compliant design that is custom built for your site.
- We talk through your goals and understand your priorities.
Step 3: Design and Quote
We send you a clear, written quote.
- We design a fit-for-purpose system.
- We consider your goals and priorities.
- We provide options to choose from.
- Each option lists the panels, inverter and/or battery, the system size in kW/kWh, and the price.
- We explain the trade-offs in plain terms, quality vs price.
- Federal rebates you qualify for are already included in the figures. Local council or electricity retail (e.g. VPP) rebates are not included.

Step 4: Consideration, Comparison and Selection
This is your time. No rush.
- Take a look, ask us anything, and compare the options side by side.
- We encourage you to get in touch with other installers to compare quotes.
- We probably won’t be the cheapest. We aim for the highest quality and longevity.
- We’re happy to tweak the design or talk it through over the phone.
- When you’re ready, digitally ‘sign and accept’ your preferred option.
Step 5: Book Your Install
Select a date that suits you.
- Book in your install via our web tool or on the phone.
- We will offer you our soonest available date, or select a later date that best suits you.
Step 6: Installation Day
The day it all comes together.
- Our accredited installers arrive between 7.00am and 7.30am.
- We set up safely and treat your site with respect and care.
- We plan the installation including cable paths.
- We will run you through the installation plan, to ensure you are comfortable.
- Most systems are completed and online by 5pm. Larger jobs will take longer, but we will inform you before the installation date.
- Upon completion, we test everything, walk you through how it works, and clean up before we leave.
- We will show you the manufacturers’ monitoring app so you can see your system in action.
Step 7: Post-installation
We don’t disappear once the system is on.
- We handle the paperwork, grid connection, compliance and your rebate claims. We will copy you on email where necessary.
- We will call you to seek feedback on your installation, please highlight any areas we can improve.
- Once you are completely satisfied, we will send you the invoice and ask for payment.
If you ever have a question, you call us, the same team that installed it. We have been operating for over a decade and will always be here to support your energy journey.
