It stores excess solar energy for use day or night, during peak hours or blackouts, and includes a built-in solar inverter with 97.5% efficiency (solar-to-home/grid), unlike the Powerwall 2, which relies on a separate inverter, adding cost and complexity. Supporting up to 20 kW of solar input across three high-powered connections, the Powerwall 3 outpaces the Powerwall 2’s external inverter needs, simplifying setups while offering flood resistance up to 0.6 meters and a sleek, compact design that’s as tough as it is stylish.
Powering St Ives with Dual Powerwall 3s
We recently completed an installation in St Ives, Sydney, that perfectly showcases the Powerwall 3’s capabilities. This home now boasts two Tesla Powerwall 3 units, paired with a 19.11 kW solar array made up of 42 AIKO Neostar 2S All Black panels. The result? A seamless, high-performance system that maximizes energy independence. The dual Powerwall 3s provide 27 kWh of storage—enough to power the entire household through outages or overnight—while the sleek, all-black AIKO panels blend beautifully with the home’s aesthetic.
